PROJECTS _ LIMESTONE COAST PROJECT - SOUTH AUSTRALIA

This advanced and highly prospective geothermal project is the principal and primary asset of Scopenergy Pty Ltd (“Scopenergy”), a company acquired by Panax in October 2007. This unique geothermal project was developed on the basis of a new and innovative exploration model, targeting ‘blind’ geothermal resources in sandstone units in an area of high heat flow in the Otway Basin.

Prior to the acquisition by Panax, Scopenergy had carried out detailed studies on geology and heat flow as well as on reservoir engineering to gain an estimate of the potential generating capacity of the Limestone Coast project and to define the best location for drill testing. This work was carried out by a number of national and international experts and consultants over a period of more than three years at a cost in excess of $3 million.

A brief summary of the project and the findings to date are set out on the next page. However, to do full justice to the amount of work carried out and the progress made to date, Panax has issued a technical and scientific summary of work carried out to December, 2005, that can be downloaded via the link to the left.
